We represent clients at DMV administrative hearings to contest the suspension of driver’s licenses and contest points. If you have received a notice of action against your driving privilege, we can help.
If you have been cited for nonconformity with DMV regulations regarding accident reports, driver’s license suspensions, failure to carry insurance, or failure to register vehicles or watercraft, contact the Law Offices of Lucy S. McAllister.
The DMV and the Court work simultaneously to suspend your driver’s license when you are arrested for a DUI offense. If you miss your court deadline, not even the attorney can get it back and if you drive on a suspended license from a DUI your car will be towed and impounded. The first offense DUI driving on a suspended license carries a MANDATORY 5 days in jail, the second 30 days.
If you have been in an auto accident in California, you are required to submit a report to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) within 10 days if there were any injuries (even minor ones) or any damage over $750. Failure to do this can result in a citation for nonformity with DMV regulations.
A telephone hearing with the DMV is not a secure way to protect your rights or prevent negative consequences. We are available to represent you at an in-person hearing where we will work to minimize fees and penalties such as possible jail time, license suspensions or revocations.
